00:00, Sat 10th – Sun 11th April 2010 at Kronborg Castle, Elsinore, Denmark
Easter Vacation
A unique and exciting opportunity to be involved in the first ever production of ‘Hamlet’ to be performed in the actual locations cited in Shakespeare’s play. This promenade performance will gain access to many parts of the castle that are normally closed to the public, including the dungeons, courtyard, Queen’s closet, Ballroom, Chapel and on the ramparts amongst other locations.
The show will be performed on two nights as part of a larger three-day ‘Hamlet’ event, involving workshops and talks by actors from the Globe, RSC and National, leading academics and Sir Trevor Nunn. Other illustrious theatrical figures are currently being approached.
The event will run from Friday to Sunday, with actors arriving the Monday before to rehearse on site.
