Easter May Week
“If we shadows have offended, think but this and all is mended That you have but slumbered here, while these visions did appear”
It’s summer in Athens, and emotions are running high. Oberon is having to deal with both his wife, and the challenge of being the most individual of all the fairies, a troupe of mechanicals are trying to put on a play in a manner suspiciously similar to a group of engineers, Theseus and his bride-to-be are tweed wearing intellectuals, and Lysander is in love, and he needs everyone to know about it, preferably in the form of his concept of body art. In fact, he’s pretty much just the worst, unless you’re Hermia.
Combining the traditions of Shakespeare with some of the more ridiculous elements of student life, plus the four lovers as you’ve never quite seen them before, Sidney Sussex Arts Festival 2013 presents a spectacular new production of one of Shakespeare's best-loved classics - A Midsummer Night's Dream.
