Three students walk into the dean's office... 15 minutes later, a skull lies shattered on the floor.
Not the gritty murder mystery that this opening suggest, this student written mock-heist short film falls tonally somewhere between Hot Fuzz and Oceans 8, as three very different students try to work together to replace the valuable skull that they left shattered on the office floor. Bonded by their shared mistake, they must travel across the university, from the back corridors of the theatre to the dreaded lair of a revising med student to a graveyard (?!), in their increasingly desperate quest to set things right before the dean finds out what they did...

THE TELL-TALE HEART is a short Cambridge student film in the pipeline. Adapted from Edgar Allen Poe’s 1843 short Gothic horror story of the same name and directed by Thomas Thorogood and Iulia Teodorescu, this film aims to be scary and darkly comedic.
We aim to achieve all the special effects on set. This might incorporate things like stop motion animation, experimental lighting, you name it. Let’s push the boundaries! Shooting will take place throughout Lent term.
The film will be submitted to international film festivals. Many cater specifically for indie horror shorts.

27 seconds chain project is BACK!
The idea: someone makes a 27 second long film sequence. We pass it on to someone else, who writes and records music to it. We take out the film, and give the music to a filmmaker, who makes a film sequence to fit the music. We take out the music, and give that film to a music maker, who writes a track to fit that film - and so on. 'Film' can be animation, live action, narrative, video art; 'music' can be a band recording, a soundscape, orchestral, choral, jazz, incorporating words, incorporating bird noises. Everyone has a week to do it, and whatever they make has to be tailored / in response to what they're given. At the end, we have a series of interlocking 27 second pieces, which we screen.
The Cambridge Film Association, in collaboration with C o l l e c t i v e, and in association with Watersprite Film Festival, is very excited to set this unprecedented project in motion. We hope it will foster a load of very fruitful collaborations, and have no idea what the end result will look like. Get involved!

VAUDEVILLE is about three men; a boy who never grew up; a man who misses women; and a man with a penchant for theatrics and motherhood.
