Founded in 2016, The Cambridge University Shakespeare Players is a society to encourage and fund innovative new productions of Shakespeare plays in Cambridge and beyond. We're particularly interested in attempts to place within a new or more modern context the timeless work of William Shakespeare, and in doing so we hope to foster enthusiasm for the Bard among cast, production teams and audiences alike.
Productions: Hamlet (Edinburgh Fringe, 2016), Macbeth (co-funded, Lent 2017), Romeo&Juliet (upcoming, Easter 2017)
CUSP is always open to funding applications to fully/ partly fund exciting productions of Shakespeare plays in the established and unestablished theatre venues of Cambridge, as well as at the Edinburgh Fringe - please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to enquire about funding or artistic/ production advice!
