'The Lark' by Jean Anouilh (translated by Christopher Fry), based on the story of Joan of Arc.
The play is set during her trial, and short episodes from her life and journey are played out chronologically. Joan of Arc manipulates, flatters and commands her way from father, to lord, to king, to battle but ultimately submits herself to her execution. It is an intense and earnest play, often quieting and sometimes vicious, but not without moments of dark humour. Diverse, high energy characters (ranging from perverted priests, abusive fathers, battling Queens and mistresses, and petulant boy-kings), operate in conjunction with the fast pace of an episodic structure to create variety and intoxicating escalation of events.

“The next stop is coming up. I am going to get up and I am going to get off. And you are not going to stop me.”
Clive’s trip home on the night bus takes a disturbing turn when nineteen year old May sits down next to him. She calls him a pervert. He misses his stop. As they travel together to the end of the route, Clive and May learn more about each other than they had bargained for. Round and Round, a new play by Hannah Greenstreet, tests whether a chance encounter can lead to a real connection, or whether it can lead to something worse.

“The one advantage of playing with fire, Lady Caroline, is that one never gets even singed. It is the people who don't know how to play with it who get burned up.”
The English upper classes gather at Lady Hunstanton’s country house and over the next twenty-four hours the lives of the characters are irrevocably changed by revelations of seduction and scandal. The 1893 play explores the double standards between men and women and showcases Wilde’s sharp witticisms and particular brand of dark humour at its very best.

"If You Please" is a French Dada-Surrealist play and is completely different from any play you will have previously acted in or come across. Written by Breton and Soupault, two titans of the surrealist movement, and first performed in 1920, If You Please takes hackneyed and clichéd plots and transforms them into thrilling and marvellous absurdity. It is the ADC week 7 late show and has a large cast with a good mix of male and female characters. This play promises to be an entertaining but testing project for everyone from beginners to the most experienced actors.

In a sleepy town, the intricate and personal stories of Santiago Nasar,
Angela and Bayardo unfold - in arms length of the audience. Angela is
returned to her family home the night of her wedding to Bayardo San Roman,
when he discovers that she is not a virgin. Her brother is forced by the
code of honour to kill the violator. Santiago Nasar wakes up the next morning,
unaware of his fate. Very soon, the whole town learns of the murderous plot
against him.
The Judith E. Wilson Studio will be transformed into a small town, thrusting
the audience and the actors into the same dramatic space. The audience will
be granted a mask of invisibility, allowing them to wander around the studio
and intimately observe the characters, piecing the plot together without being
seen.
