New President(s)/Committee for Brickhouse Theatre Company – Robinson College

**WE WANT YOU** As the new year begins, Brickhouse Theatre Company, the resident drama society at Robinson, are looking for a set of fresh faces! After a long summer break, we are now looking for an entirely new team to help develop and create a new vision for Brickhouse. **Effectively starting from scratch, this is a HUGE opportunity to really develop a theatre company with a loads of creative and theatrical freedom**

Brickhouse is one of the most celebrated college theatre companies in Cambridge; producing in-house plays in the college’s 200 seat theatre, as well as funding both ADC and Corpus Playroom shows throughout the year. With a large pot of independent funding behind it, Brickhouse is looking for both a new committee and a new president, or pair/group of friends to manage this incredible company with their own passion and vision.

Are you looking at producing lots of student written shows? Perhaps staging a musical in college every year? Perhaps looking into funding work for the Edinburgh Fringe? Whatever ideas you might have, as the new committee and presidents of Brickhouse, you may just have the establishment behind you to make this a reality!

This year we are looking to fill:

o President – This could be one person, or a couple of friends!
o Vice-President
o Technicians rep
o Secretary
o Junior Treasurer – Must be a Robinson college member!
o General member!

And don’t worry if you don’t have any, many of our past Brickhouse members have been introduced to Cambridge theatre through being a member of this committee.

Questions:

Do I need to be a member of Robinson College to apply?

• No! As a society within the college, only our treasurer needs to be a college member, but thankfully, we already have this role covered. In fact, we highly encourage people within Cambridge theatre outside of Robinson to apply to be within the committee.

Will there be someone to help guide us / introduce us to the College theatre?

• Yes! Don’t worry, the college have a AV technician, Liam Martin, who is always available to discuss things with the committee. There will also be two ex-presidents still in Cambridge to help smoothly guide things at the start of term.

What is the time commitment that goes into running or being a member of the Brickhouse committee?

• However much you want to put into it! We would usually have a couple meetings a term to decide on our upcoming productions and funding applications – but with a new president, this structure and schedule can very much be adapted!
