Join us for a hilarious tale of love and vanity, set against the colourful background of Victorian London's Aesthetic Movement! We're looking for a talented cast of singers and actors to join our cast! Opportunities are available for all voice parts at any level of experience. The Cambridge University Gilbert & Sullivan Society prides itself on its accessibility to people of all theatrical and musical backgrounds, so whether you've not performed on stage at all, or are coming from an experienced opera or musical theatre background, we would love to welcome you to our production!

Confusion abounds within the walls of Castle Bunthorne - Patience, the local milkmaid, has found herself beloved by the poet Reginald Bunthorne, whose mercurial melodrama has already charmed a whole chorus of rapturous maidens. To make things worse, amid Bunthorne’s many advances and the ire of his entourage, her first love, the inestimable aesthete Archibald Grosvenor, returns from his 15-year absence to regain her affection. Patience’s otherwise ordinary life falls into absurdity as we follow the ever-changing affections of these rival poets, their entourage of love-struck maidens, and the maidens’ former flames - an entire regiment of Dragoon Guards!

Whether you are ill-tuned to light love-talk or love with a heart-whole ecstasy, our production of Patience will bring its sharp wit and tender romance to the fore, in all of its colourful excess – join our cast to bring this timeless tale of love and laughs to the stage this February!

In-person auditions will be held from Monday 4th November to Thursday 7th November, with slots arranged by email after availability is given via the Google Form linked in the audition pack. Video auditions will also be accepted, the deadline for which is 1200 on Thursday 7th November.
