Festival of New Writing Is Open For Applications!!

Calling all playwrights! Do you have a short play to submit to Downing's Festival of New Writing? Apply now!

We are looking to produce 9 new, student-written short plays of around 20 minutes in length for our Festival of New Writing. All plays will be put on in front of a panel of professionals from the theatre industry, and you will have the chance to receive their feedback and to connect with them personally. Look through the application pack, linked below, and submit your script to us by January 14th 2025.

Later down the line, the successful nine playwrights will be looking for directors and actors to help bring their scripts to life, so keep an eye out for their adverts!
