A Vanishing Act is the main show at the Corpus Playroom during week 8 of Lent Term. It is a tragicomedy depicting the tale of two strange men stuck in the doldrums amidst their quest to find a missing boy. It is a unique and original work with a lot of room for creativity. We are looking for a Producer , Set Designer , Sound Designer  and Lighting Designer /Operator

PRODUCER 

We are looking for a very organised person to act as our producer . You would be in charge of social media, booking rehearsal rooms, and making/attending appointments with the ADC Theatre staff. SET DESIGNER /TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

We are looking for a talented set designer . This play needs a sailboat with a cabin, or at least something that resembles a cabin (for changing, scene change, silhouettes etc). The ideal candidate would ideally have carpentry experience, as we would need to either adapt a real boat, build our own boat and deconstruct/move the boat after the show. It will be difficult but incredibly rewarding if we can get it right. We would need you to create an ominous sort of set (i.e. hypnotic/slow waves beneath the boat, darkness, etc) in line with the overall vision. SOUND DESIGNER /OPERATOR

We are looking for an experienced and creative sound designer /operator. You would be tasked with creating or compiling a myriad of sounds for our seascape in whatever way they feel is best (i.e. using real sea sounds, creating something a bit different, potentially both, etc). The ideal individual would have prior experience and would be able to operate on the nights of the show if required. LIGHTING DESIGNER /OPERATOR

We are looking for an experienced and creative lighting designer /operator. This show involves a decent amount of work with lights (i.e. the three emergency lights flickering and dimming at specific times, silhouette work, etc), and there is a lot of room for creativity that could add to the performance. As mentioned, we want to bring people into an achromatic void and let them find light in the dark. We cannot do that without the right light designer, and so a creative individual with fresh new ideas would be a great help.
