Actor for Mensch at Queens

I'm so excited to announce that Mensch, a new play by Jay Palombella and the Week 5 BATS Mainshow, is looking for an actor! Mensch is a play which brings two legends of the European avant-garde front and centre, and we're currently looking for actor to fill the role of Lucian. See below. Extensions and questions always welcome!

Mensch is a play which explores the relationship between two of the most formative artists of the 20th century: Frank Auerbach and Lucian Freud.

Often playful, ironic and elusive, their exchange is as much conversation as examination. One evening and subsequent morning in the late-1960s, Auerbach attempts a likeness of Freud, and in the process struggles with questions of form, memory and his own sense of himself.

What we’re looking for
We are looking for an actor to play the role of Lucian Freud (1922-2011), the artist and l’objet d’art of Auerbach’s piece. You can read more about him here. Throughout the play, he is sitting for Frank Auerbach. Freud is rambunctious, irreverent, fashionably late, though with an often abrasive sense of his own personality. We’re looking for a performer to bring this alive, particularly someone with energy and a willingness to contribute creatively!
