'Beaters' Day' is looking for a director!

Festival of New WritingDDS
19:30, Thu 6th – Sat 8th March 2025 at Howard Theatre, Downing College
Lent Week 6

'Beaters' Day', one of the Festival's short plays, is looking for a director ! Performance 6th March.

Eve Connor, the writer, describes the play as follows:

    “Heh-up! Heh-up! Heh-up!”

Like many teen boys from rural English towns, Ethan finds work during the hunting season as a beater, frightening the pheasants out of their hiding spots and into the line of the shooters. He doesn’t philosophise about the job: the pay is decent, and Ethan appreciates his walkie-talkie. Nobody warned him about the angry, topless woman in the undergrowth.

Beaters' Day is a lightly satirical short play about modern gender dynamics and gamebirds.
