Half of the songs are going to be pre-1965 musical theatre classics, and half of them are going to be brand-spanking new, original compositions! Come along and listen to some never-before-heard bangers, because next time you hear them, you'll have to pay £80 for a ticket in the West End.

Got an idea but don't know where to go with it?
Got a structure but can't seem to write convincing dialogue?
Got nothing but an array of nebulous thoughts which you fancy devising from with a bunch of actors and seeing what happens?
Writers' Jam is back, with a spring in its step and a grin on its face (inspired by the sweet sweet prospect of artistic collaboration)!!! This an opportunity for writers / directors / anyone with an idea which they'd like to develop to come and run a workshop around it, with a group of actors, in the ADC bar. No obligation to perform it at the end. It's also an opportunity for actors to get involved in a freer kind of process than rehearsals normally offer, having creative input in the development of exciting new work.
We will welcome writing for film, theatre and radio, in any stage of development.

Or have you ever wanted to play Matilda but realise that unfortunately, you are no longer a child and have very real adult responsibilities and can you stop look at my bank statement mum really yes I use Deliveroo a lot LET ME LIVE!

Come join us in the ADC bar for an evening of monologues from some of Cambridge's finest student performers. A great opportunity for audiences and actors alike to see extracts from brilliant plays that they may never have heard of before and to stretch their skills for that next big audition.
New this term, our Clashes will be themed, first off the Classical Clash – all our performers will be performing monologues from greats such as Marlowe and Shakespeare, wiith our second theme to be announced later in term!

The Marlowe Society’s Hatch is an event for the theatre community providing space for short excerpts of student new writing of any genre to be staged at the ADC Theatre.
This HATCH launches a brand new year-long program for writers that the Marlowe is running in 2017-18, offering a hub for the writing community with a biweekly writers' group. This evening will be particularly useful to those looking to test audience reaction to a piece in development. It will be both for existing ADC regulars to reconvene at the beginning of the year and for freshers or newly inspired theatre-makers to meet the community. Our first writer's programme session will be Wednesday the 11th following the HATCH.
At a HATCH, we want you to feel like you can fail, succeed, slip up, try again, get it wrong, get it right... but most importantly, write.
Details for writers, actors and directors who would like to be involved in the night are below.
This night is in the ADC Theatre Bar on Monday 9th October at 8pm.

Writers-
Please submit your script, poem or piece of prose for performance by Friday 6th of October at 6pm.
This can be any genre and, for our programming purposes, should fit into one of three categories: 1 minute and under, 5 minutes and under or 10 minutes and under.
Directors & Actors -
Drop us a line by Friday October the 6th at 6pm to register interest.
Writer/ Actor/ Director teams are welcome to apply together and/ or writers can specify who they would like to direct or act in their pieces.
Teams will be allocated on Friday the 6th and will have three days (within which we recommend 2-3 hrs rehearsal) to prep for either script-in-hand or off book performances as suits the group.

Four comedians and a lot of questions. You ask the questions, we answer them. For one night we are your 3am Google Search. Ask us those questions you've been afraid to ask in case people found out how much of a weirdo you really are...
Send us your questions through social media, e-mail, pigeon post, smoke signals, a post-it note placed on our forehead while we sleep, or an elderly gentleman messenger who is carrying your question in a folded piece of paper in his wallet.
All proceeds will be donated to the Samaritans charity.
