Summer Vacation
Political tensions mount as fairies and British peers battle over the love of Phyllis. But, Phyllis loves Strephon who is half fairy and half human. Caught talking to his beautiful fairy mother, Iolanthe, Phyllis assumes he is being unfaithful and spurns him. The plot thickens when Strephon’s father, the Lord Chancellor, decides that he should marry Phyllis!
This performance forms part of the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival at Buxton Opera House.
